The Story Behind The Symbol

A lot of clothing companies have a symbol, all of which are created with intention. Quicksilver has a wave, McDonals has golden arches, and Relish Ink has an ink bottle... sorta.

The three X's clearly make the bottle look like a jug of alcohol, but they actually represent "Poison". When Jonathan Turner was creating the symbol, he started with an ink bottle. The liquid coming out of the top of the bottle was suppose to represent ink when he was sketching the piece. Like most artists, Jonathan's intention changed direction as design took shape.

Everyone hears the name Relish Ink, and assumes we are a tattoo company. Although we love the that form of art, our "Ink" concept represents sketches, murals, and graffiti. We needed an ink bottle to represent our brand, but the bottle turned to poison, and wings were added. The wings simply represent the freedom from poison. The actual "flying away". Everyone has their own poison, and this symbol represents the removal of it, and the intent to "Relish" your life.
